Both Baseball and Softball will play in the 1A-7 Regional Tournament at the Arkadelphia Park and Rec Complex on Thursday, May 6 at 12:30. You will need tickets to attend these games. You can purchase tickets by going to: https://gofan.co/app/school/AAA -This is a mobile ticket entry event. Tickets must be presented on a smartphone for entry. Printed tickets will not be accepted. -Admission will be charged for ages 5+. -AAA Passes will be accepted unless the venue has reached capacity in actual attendance or pre-sold tickets.

Congratulations to Karlie Hernandez and Roberto Vasquez for receiving the Arkansas Seal of Biliteracy! They are 2 of 456 Arkansas students receiving this honor. Karlie and Roberto have demonstrated proficiency in English and Spanish.

ACT Aspire testing has been going great this week for grades 3-10. In the event that your child is absent during school this week, makeup testing for on-site students will begin April 12. The Friday testing is ONLY for virtual students who opted for 2 Friday sessions.

Reminder!!! ACT Aspire testing will begin tomorrow, Monday, April 5th for grades 3-10!! High School students please remember to bring your CHARGED chromebook to school all week!!

Our 2021 Senior Showcase will be held on April 22nd in the gym at 10:00 am. The Class of 2021 Graduation Ceremony will be held May 13th at 7:00pm, also in the gym.

Kirby Trojan Community: I'm sure by now everyone has heard that the Governor has lifted the mask mandate for Arkansas. The Governor and DESE (Department of Elementary and Secondary Education) have allowed each school district to make a decision that best suites each district regarding the proclamation given by the Governor today. With that being said, Kirby School District effective Wednesday, March 31, 2021 will allow parents, staff, students the option whether to wear a mask or not. These are personal decisions made by each individual and will be respected in whatever choice the individual makes. This decision has not been taken lightly and conversations have been taking place with our district administration, school board, POC, and Ready for Learning Team for many weeks now. Kirby School District will continue to follow state guidelines concerning safety protocols such as sanitizing, social distancing, etc. We hope this is one of many steps in getting our schools and your students back to normalcy.

The baseball game at Bismarck scheduled for tomorrow has been cancelled. We will make up this game April 8th at 4:30 at Bismarck

Welcome Back! Just a few reminders: Peewee Basketball Pictures will be tomorrow, March 30. High School Athletic pictures will be Wednesday, March 31. Beginning next week Monday, April 5 through Thursday, April 8, Grades 3-10 will be taking the ACT Aspire.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Cheer tryout practice for Monday has been canceled because of a softball game. Tryout practices will be Tuesday and Wednesday from 4:20-6:30pm in the gym. Please share!

Seniors Lauryn Rudolph and Saydee Johnson started their Spring Break off by representing Undirty Dozen at KLAZ radio station! The girls are recording a radio ad stating why they choose to RAAD...Rise Above Alcohol and Drugs!

At today's 5pm Homecoming Ceremony we will have a donation box set up for cash donations for the Barba family whose house burned last night. This family could also use any clothing donations as well. There has been a change in the date for the official cheer tryouts due to a scheduling conflict with softball! Tryouts will now be April 2nd at 9:00am!

Cheer tryouts will be March 29th-April 1st. Tryout practices are after school on March 29th-March 31st from 4:15pm-5:30pm. They are mandatory practices so that each candidate has plenty of time to learn the material. The KHS Varsity Cheer Squad is 7th-12th grades only. If you are a 6th grader right now you may tryout since you will be in the 7th grade next year. The 2020-2021 Homecoming Ceremonies will be Thursday, March 18th in the gym. 2 ceremonies, one for the students & faculty at 2pm, one for public at 5pm. Pictures will be taken in between ceremonies. We ask that all who attend please wear masks and continue to follow the current Covid guidelines.
