Students is Mrs. Johnson's Biology class are making monocot or dicot stems!

This week, eighth graders started a unit on deciding what matters to them by discussing how to make big decisions. They are also learning about people who beat the odds, like Barrington Irving, the youngest person to fly solo around the world. After discovering who he was, students created a timeline of his impressive life.

Here’s a glimpse into our Advanced ModBand class taught by Mrs. Jenny Hainen! They are working on a variety of songs to perform at Kirby’s first ever Art and Music Fest on May 10. Mark your calendars!

Kirby School District is closely monitoring the flash flood concerns in our area. Officer Brady has been keeping an eye on the roads that have been affected. If you are concerned that where you live may become impassable or hazardous, you are welcome to pick up your child and it will not be counted against them. If your child is a bus rider, please let the school know of any unsafe road conditions near your home. As we continue to monitor the weather, our hope is the rain will stop and start descending by the time school is released. As always, the safety of students and staff is our main priority!

Adventure is out there! Happy Thursday! 🎈
