Kirby School announces DESTRUCTION OF Special Education RECORDS for the school year of 2017-2018
SPECIAL EDUCATION RECORDS ARE MAINTAINED IN A SECURE LOCATION FOR 6 YEARS AFTER STUDENTS GRADUATE OR LEAVE THE DISTRICT. AFTER THAT TIME, THEY ARE DESTROYED IN A CONFIDENTIAL MANNER. RECORDS ARE AVAILABLE TO THE STUDENT OR PARENT (IF THE STUDENT IS UNDER 18) BY REQUEST. CALL THE SPECIAL EDUCATION OFFICE AT (870) 398-4213 TO MAKE A REQUEST FOR RECORDS. This will be for the school year of 2017-2018.
Join us for our Annual STEAM Camp May 30 - June 2. Students in grades Kindergarten through Sixth grade can sign up with the link for a week of hands on learning and fun activities. Kirby Elementary got to end the week with a taco bar from El Diamante's and a wonderful tray of cookies from the ladies bible class at the Glenwood Church of Christ. THANK YOU to everyone that made today's lunch possible and thank you ladies for the delicious cookies! 🤗 We at Kirby Elementary have felt appreciated this week and are so grateful to everyone!
I can’t believe the end of the school year is here! Thank you parents and guardians for letting me take care of your children and grandchildren for the past 7 years! I am going to miss them but I am leaving them in great hands with our new K-12 School Nurse, Leigh Alexander-Starwalt. Leigh will take over at the beginning of the 23-24 school year. She has been a nurse for over 25 years and I have no doubt she will love and take care of all the students and staff here at Kirby School.
If your child has daily medications they take here at school and/or epipens/ inhalers kept in the nurse's office, they will need to be picked up by an adult and signed out before May 24th. They can be picked up on K & 6 graduation day May 15th or awards assembly day for 1-5 on May 22nd.
Any medication or epipen/inhaler that is left after May 25th will be properly disposed of. No student will be allowed to take their medication or epipen/inhaler with them at the end of their last day on campus.

Kirby Elementary would like to give a SHOUT OUT to the Kirby Kwik Stop and thank them for their generosity and support for Teacher Appreciation Week! We were provided with pizza, homemade cinnamon rolls, and chocolate chip cookies. Our very own Ms. Mary Hollifield made us a delicious coconut cake! We want to give another SHOUT OUT to South Central Electric Company for the varity of candy bars provided today! You are awesome! 🤗

Kirby School District was recently awarded the Health Screening & Emergency Response Grant for $5,000. The grant was used in purchasing a new Stop the Bleed wall mount station, an overdose emergency wall mount with Narcan nasal spray and a new Titmus 4 vision screener. These new emergency stations are centrally located in the school building and also located in the gymnasium.
