Kirby Public Schools

As Kirby School District K-12 Nurse, my job includes providing health care through assessment, intervention, and follow-up for all students in the school. Along with the teachers and staff, we have only the students best interest in mind which includes staying healthy, staying in class, and having very little absences due to health related issues. Sometimes it is in the best interest of the student, teachers and classmates that if I have a health concern, I will refer the child to be seen by a physician before returning to school. ALL screenings that I do are conducted in a manner that respects the confidentiality of each student. Thanks, Alissa Kelley

Peewee basketball forms will be going home with students in grades 3rd-6th. If they plan to play basketball, we need their form returned by Thursday, Oct. 3rd. Forms can be turned in at the office.

Reminders: Family Reading Night tonight 4:15-6:30 PM. Speaker from the Morgan Nick Foundation will be in Room 14 the Resource Room with a presentation for parents @ 5 PM. Parent/Teacher Conferences are this Thursday, September 26 from 4-7 PM. School will dismiss @ 2:45 PM this day. 3rd Trojan Enrichment Friday will be this Friday, Sept. 27 from 8-12 PM.

The deadline to register for the Oct. 26th ACT is this Friday. Mrs. Tolleson has fee waivers in her office. Every Junior or Senior that qualifies for free/reduced lunch can fill out a waiver twice for a free ACT. Feel free to contact us with any questions.

Kirby School District and our very own Nurse Alissa would like give a huge Thank You to Dr. Mandi Ott and her staff for coming to our school. Over the past 4 years they have provided vision screenings for Kirby School District Students. We appreciate you very much!!!

Kirby School District would like to say Thank You to Game and Fish Officer Ronnie White and Pike County Deputies Brady Whisenhunt and Richard O'Neal for adding extra security and keeping our students, faculty and staff safe today!! It was greatly appreciated!!

2019-2020 Trojan Basketball Season Passes are now available!! These passes will cover the 15 scheduled home games and save you some $$!!! Season Passes will be on sale for $50 until Maroon And Gray Game, October 18. See District Administration Office for more details or to purchase!

I would like to remind everyone that high school students need to be in class by 7:55. That is the start time for school. We have a bell that rings a few minutes before to help signal kids to get to class. We knew with the many changes that there would be some confusion. We have given everyone a couple of weeks to adjust to bells and such before we began to crack down on tardiness. Thank you all for your support for our kids and our school! This year has been amazing so far!

At this time no corroborating evidence or useful details have been uncovered in regard to the information provided to the FBI. In the event more specific or credible information is received; it will be shared with local law enforcement offices, state and local school officials, as well as Arkansas citizens. The Arkansas State Police asks that if anyone has information about a threat of violence whether the site of the threat may be a school or other public place, please contact your nearest Arkansas State Police Office or local law enforcement agency.
