Parent/Teacher Conferences are scheduled for October 8 from 2:00pm - 7:00pm. Due to Covid-19 concerns, PTC will look a lot different this year. The Kirby School District admin team has met to formulate a safe plan that will follow all guidelines set forth by the Department of Education, CDC, and Arkansas Department of Health. We know that this plan is not conducive to what we have done in the past but with COVID-19 regulations in place, this is the best option we can provide. Parents, with whom teachers need to visit for any purpose, will be contacted by their child's teacher by the end of the day on October 6 to schedule a time between 2-7 on October 8. This could be for academic, behavioral, technology, concerns, issues, etc If parents are not contacted, please do not show up without a scheduled time set forth by the teacher. If a parent is not contacted and would like to schedule a conference meeting, parents will need to get a hold of the teacher via email, phone call, etc to schedule one. Once again, I know this is out of the norm and not what we would like but our students, faculty/staff, parents are in the best interest of our school district in the decisions we make.

Papers will be sent home today with students containing information about the Trojans Health Clinic. There are some forms that need to be filled out and brought back to the school before we can see your child. There have been a few questions asked about it so here is a rundown: Heather Funderburk of CHI in Glenwood will be on campus one day a week (maybe more during flu season) to see staff and students as the need arises. She will still be a full time APN at her Glenwood Clinic. I will still be here full time as the school nurse. The clinic will be located in the room next to my office. Heather and I will work together to make sure every student and staff member stays healthy! If you need for your child to be seen for any reason (sick, checkup, ADHD meds, injury, etc) you will call the school and speak to me or call me on my cell phone and I will set up the appointment with Heather on the day that she will be here. We have not set the day yet and it may change but I will post what day she will be on campus through our school social media accounts. The parent or guardian does NOT have to be present for your child to be seen. If your child comes in my office sick or hurt that day for any reason, Heather will be available to see them. We will be able to swab for flu, strep, do urinalysis, and lab work. Every attempt to reach the parent or guardian will be done prior to seeing the child. Please feel free to message me or call me with any questions or concerns you have. We are waiting on a few things before we can get started but we hope to open soon!
