The Kirby Chess Club has had another great year! The TEAM went to Regionals and played against sixteen schools. We played 1-A through 3-A schools. The team members are Dathan
Trejo, Neftali Gonzalez, Gary Hernandez, Jonathan Breazeale, Logan Daniels, Chianna Travis,
Karli Hernandez, Matthew Wilder, Nasha Friedman, and Levi York. The students had some intense, close games, and did their best. The team had to come in one of the top three places to assure a place at State Tournament. The team came in third place so it was on to the
State Tournament held at Bald Knob, AR schools. As their coach and sponsor, I am very
Proud of their talent and their behavior at this very long week-end tournament. At this important tournament, we tied for fifth place. Out of the twenty schools, we played eleven of them. Congratulations to our team!! Our team will miss the three graduating seniors: Neftali, Gary, and Nathan. The team is coached and sponsored by Ms. Linda Madsen

Trojan baseball: today’s first round of regional tournament play has been delayed two hours. They will now play at 5:00 at Taylor. Baseball bus is leaving at 1:30. We will update if anything else changes.

Parents: All medications, inhalers and/or epi pens that are kept in the nurses office for your child will need to be picked up no later than May 23rd. They will NOT be sent home with the student! Elementary awards are May 20th and they can be picked up that day also. Any medicine left past May 23rd will be discarded of. Any questions or concerns, please contact Alissa Kelley at 870-398-4211. Kirby Volunteer Fire Department Fundraiser May 4, 2019 from 4-8 PM in the Kirby School Cafeteria!
Food pantry update: The 2018-2019 food pantry has been a huge success! We could not have done it without the local churches, businesses, individuals and organizations and your generous donations! We are finishing out the year sending close to 50 bags every Friday! We have also been fortunate enough to help those families who needed extra help through the week.
Next school year we foresee helping more students and their families. Next week we will be sending out donation letters or if you would like to make a food or monetary donation, please call Alissa Kelley at Kirby school at 870-398-4211.

Trojans baseball team is winning their first round of district tournament right now 5-0. Hayden Johnson hit a over the fence home run!! Top of the 4th!
