Thursday Thriller Book Club met today (I know it's not Thursday) : ) Schedules at school get a little crazy this time of year! We all had a great time, and I was SO proud of all the discussion from our students. This is such a fun series and I for one am so excited to see my kids enjoying it! I especially want to thank Mrs. Carlee (Garrett) Kirkpatrick for purchasing the novels for each student and snacks for our meeting this nine weeks!

🌟🎄 Kirby Shines at the State Capitol! 🎄🌟
We are proud to announce that Livi Smith, 6th grade, was selected to have her ornament displayed on the Arkansas State Capitol tree! Her design is showcased alongside ornaments created by other talented students from across the state as part of the Arkansas Celebrates America250 project.
This is a wonderful honor that highlights both Livi’s creativity and the pride of our school community. Families can visit the tree in the Old Supreme Court Room at the Arkansas State Capitol through mid‑January, or explore the full ornament gallery online at https://america250.ade.arkansas.gov/

Yesterday, Kirby Elementary students had the opportunity to learn from Cossatot River State Park educators, who visited campus to share hands‑on lessons in animal identification and water quality testing.
🐾 Students explored Arkansas wildlife by examining animal furs, learning how to recognize species and understand their role in local ecosystems.
💧 They tested water samples to see how quality impacts both animals and people.
🌱 The program encouraged leadership in conservation, showing students how small actions make a big difference in protecting natural resources.
We are grateful to Cossatot River State Park for inspiring our students to be future conservation leaders and for connecting classroom learning with real‑world stewardship.

The library provided teachers with a pressed flower bookmark activity before the chaos of the holiday season gets underway. I failed to get pictures of my elementary teachers...I was talking...go figure!
Kirby Sr. Beta recently sponsored a "Socktober" fundraiser to benefit homeless shelters and warming centers in Hot springs. We originally had a goal of reaching 500 pairs of socks to donate. Today, we are so proud to share that we were able to donate over 1,000 pairs of socks to the Community Resource Center in Hot Springs! Our little town is always ready to help support our students and show them the true meaning of community! Thank you to all the students and community members who helped us "Pay it Forward" . As always, It's a GREAT day to be a Trojan!
