We’re proud to announce that Kirby Elementary has been awarded the Commitment to Excellence in STEM Education Grant from the Arkansas STEM Coalition! This grant will fund a greenhouse and aquaponics system, giving our 3rd-6th graders year-round access to a botanical lab where they’ll explore how sunlight, air, and water fuel plant growth. 🌿💧☀️
But that’s not all—students will also receive Stream Macroinvertebrate, Bacteria, and Water Pollution Kits to conduct hands-on water quality testing. These tools will empower students to investigate, observe, and model water cycling in plants, streams, and aquatic organisms—bringing science to life in powerful new ways. 🔬🌊
This project will also enhance our annual STEM Camp, expanding opportunities for exploration and innovation across grades 3–6.
Huge thanks to the Arkansas STEM Coalition for supporting our vision—and to our incredible staff for making it happen. Let’s grow something amazing together!

Elementary Book Fair will be here October 20th-24th!!!

Last week, they dug into the world of horticulture 🌿—learning how plants are grown and cared for. This week, they took their learning to the next level with a fun and educational board game that introduced them to careers in the horticulture field! 🎲👩🌾👨🔬
It’s exciting to see them explore how science, creativity, and nature come together in the world of agriculture! 🍅🌻
