April is Poetry month! Elementary students will be learning how to use figurative language when writing poems, as well as how to write various types of poems. This week third grade learned about Concrete or Found Poetry. They were given a template and each student created and recited their original poems in the library for their classmates.

Kirby School District will run all normal bus routes tomorrow, Monday, April 7th. If your road is not accessible at this time and you feel you cannot safely get your child to school, please contact our offices and your child will have an excused absence.

Kirby School District is closely monitoring the weather. As of right now, we will be releasing at our normal scheduled time. If you are concerned about the incoming severe weather, you are welcome to pick up your child at any time, with the absence not counting against them.

Congratulations to Mrs. Gracen and Mrs. Melissa on their completion of continuing education in Clinical Mental Health! 🤗
Both completed training on the diagnosis and treatment of Eating Disorders. Mrs. Melissa also completed training in Trauma-informed Play Therapy from the Arkansas Association for Play Therapy.
We are grateful to have Therapists and QBHPs on campus to support your children!


Kirby Elementary Student Council had a blast at the ribbon cutting for Daisy State Park's visitor center and playground this morning!




Elementary 3rd Quarter Grades have been posted to Home Access Center (HAC). Printed copies will go home Monday, March 17.


Trojan Enrichment scheduled for Friday, March 14 has been cancelled.
Kirby Elementary and High School will conduct an ATLAS Bootcamp on Friday, April 4th in preparation for ATLAS summative testing. All students grades 3rd - 10th are encouraged to attend. Students will work on Reading, Language, Math, and Science. Any student that attends, will be included in a drawing for a Magic Springs Season Pass. There will be drawings for both elementary and high school.
Reminder, students will be taking ATLAS state assessments in April.
7th - 10th Grade Students will take the ATLAS Summative Test the week of April 14 - 17.
3rd - 6th Grade Students will take the ATLAS Summative Test the week of April 22-24, 28
