🎣 Teachers Training for FINS: Fishing in the Natural State!
Our staff spent the afternoon learning hands‑on strategies through the FINS (Fishing in the Natural State) teacher training program! This training equips educators with the skills and resources to bring outdoor learning, conservation education, and real‑world fishing experiences straight to our students.
We’re excited to expand opportunities that connect kids with Arkansas’s natural resources and inspire a love for the outdoors. Big thanks to the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission for supporting schools and empowering teachers through this program.

Kirby Elementary is proud of the progress our students have made in our efforts to become a designated school of conservation leadership🌿
Through strong student leadership, meaningful conservation actions, and school-wide involvement, our students are learning the importance of protecting Arkansas’s natural resources.
Representing Kirby Elementary, members of the Student Council presented this year’s School of Conservation leadership projects to the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.
Check out some of the great work our students have been doing! 📸👇
We look forward to continuing this important work and growing our impact even more in the future. 💚

THRIVE TIME with Mrs. Melissa: The kids are learning about the effects of Relaxation techniques on the brain. Relaxation skills, such as 478 Breathing and Guided Imagery can slow down Amygdala function, and boost Frontal Lobe processing. It boosts Serotonin and GABA functions. We did a Guided Imagery activity today to test our bodies' abilities. A great skill to learn and USE during testing week!
