On Wednesday, September 22nd, students will be gathering at our flagpole at 7:30am for prayer. We ask that all parents who drop their children off in the car line to be vigilant of students as they gather. This is a student organized event.

Kirby Robotics is selling team T shirts to support the High School and elementary teams this year. We have attached an online order form here to help with ordering. We will take orders until October 15th. We expect to have the shirts by October 30th. We have two shirts designs. The T shirt for the High School team has FRC and BEST team numbers, and the T shirt for the elementary team has Junior Robotics. The backs of both shirts will bear the logos of our various sponsors. The price for either design is $15 for any size up to Adult XL, $17 for Adult 2XL and $18 for Adult 3XL. We will contact everyone who orders shirts to arrange for payment. We will need money by October 15th.

Progress Reports are posted to Home Access Center (HAC). You can email me if you have trouble accessing your child's grades @ kristina.reid@kirbytrojans.net. Parent/Teacher Conferences will be Thursday, September 23 from 2-7 PM. School will dismiss early and buses will leave campus at 1 PM that day. Due to COVID constraints, Parents with whom teachers need to visit for any purpose, will be contacted by their child's teacher by the end of the day Monday, September 20th to schedule a time between 2 & 7 pm. This could be for academic, behavioral, technology, concerns, issues, etc. If parents are not contacted, please do not come on campus without a scheduled time set forth by the teacher. If a parent is not contacted and would like to schedule a conference meeting, parents will need to get in contact with the teacher via email, phone call, etc by the end of the day Tuesday, September 21 to schedule a conference time.

To clear up some rumors that are circulating around, Kirby School District and their employees are not and will not vaccinate your child from Covid 19 on our campus. We have no plans to have a Covid vaccination clinic at this time. The only thing we have scheduled is our yearly influenza vaccination clinic on Oct 6th and those are given by the Pike Health Department and no one is given one without signed parental consent.
I believe every vaccination is a parental choice and would never force a student to do anything against their will or parents. I worked to hard for my nursing license to do something to put my license in jeopardy.
I hope all parents and guardians know that we have the students health, safety and education as top priority.
If you have any questions or concerns, please call me at the school at 870-398-4211. Thanks - Nurse Alissa Kelley

REMINDER!!
In an effort to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus within our staff and student body we are asking all parents/guardians, of students who will be in attendance on-site, and all employees to notify our designated Point of Contact immediately when the following occurs:
•Someone in the household has tested positive for COVID-19.
•Someone in the household has been identified as a Close Contact to a positive case of COVID-19 and is requiring quarantine and/or recommended to be tested for COVID-19.
•Student attending on-site and employees who are being tested for COVID-19. If symptomatic, student/staff should remain in quarantine pending results of their COVID-19 test.
Please call Kirby school nurse/POC Alissa Kelley at 870-223-2711, 7 days a week or email information to alissa.kelley@kirbytrojans.net.
1. Individuals who have previously tested positive for COVID-19 and recovered within 90 days do not have to quarantine, as long as they do not develop new symptoms.
2. Individuals exposed to a confirmed case of COVID-19 will not need to quarantine if the exposed individual has no symptoms and both the infected and exposed individual consistently and correctly were wearing a mask.
3. Individuals who are fully vaccinated will not have to quarantine, provided they do not have symptoms. School nurses can help verify the vaccination status of a potential close contact through WebIZ to help POCs and school officials determine responses. Parents and students should not be required to provide documentation of vaccination status if nurses are unable to verify through WEBIZ.
Quarantine of those exposed to someone with COVID-19
As of December 2, 2020, the CDC amended its guidance to allow two shorter options for the
quarantine period. Based on current CDC guidance, the quarantine period can end for
individuals experiencing no symptoms according to the following guidelines:
1. After 10 full 24-hour periods since close contact exposure without testing, or
2. After seven full 24-hour periods since close contact exposure and after receiving a
negative test result (sample taken no earlier than five 24-hour periods after exposure).
Please contact me at the school during school hours at 870-398-4211, my cell phone at 870-223-2711 7 days a week or my email at alissa.kelley@kirbytrojans.net if you have any questions.
