Kirby High School held their first ever Career Fair on February 13 for grades 7-12! Guest speakers from a variety of local industries spoke to students about the duties of their career, expectations, employment opportunities and much more. Thank you to the following industries for sharing your day with us: First State Bank - Glenwood Gateway Allied Health in Hot Springs Arkansas Game and Fish Department of Human Services Army National Guard US Marine Corps South Central Arkansas Electric Hot Springs Beauty College Lincoln Tech Tyson US Corp of Engineers Pike County Extension 4H Office Students were entered into a drawing for gift cards once they completed a reflection of the speakers they heard from. Congratulations to our representatives for Arkansas Boys State and Arkansas Girls State! These students were voted on by the high school faculty and staff and their classmates. Pictured left to right: Gus Tolleson, Jaxon Fatherree, Montana Cook and Remington Cowart. Boys State and Girls State are immersive leadership and civics engagement programs designed for high school juniors. The programs teach future generations of Arkansas citizens to be actively involved in their communities and government at every level.
