Our 4th and 5th grade students recently enjoyed an exciting and educational field study trip to Garvan Woodland Gardens. This beautiful outdoor space gave students the chance to explore nature while connecting their classroom learning to real-life experiences. During the trip, students also participated in a fun and engaging nature scavenger hunt. Working in small groups, they searched for items such as unique leaves, flowers, textures, and signs of animal life.

🌄 6th Grade Field Study at Petit Jean State Park!
Yesterday, our 6th graders spent the day exploring Petit Jean State Park for a hands‑on field study filled with Arkansas history, geology, and wildlife conservation.
Students visited:
• Rock House — where they viewed ancient petroglyphs and learned what these carvings can tell us about the people who lived here long ago.
• Cedar Falls Trail — where they discovered how the iconic waterfall was formed, the story of how Petit Jean got its name, and the early construction that shaped the park we know today.
• Bear Cave — where they learned why the area is called “Bear Cave” and heard the story of how Arkansas worked to protect bears and other wildlife from near extinction.
• Museum of Automobiles — where they wrapped up the day with a fun tour of historic vehicles and learned how transportation has changed over time.
Our students had a full day of learning, exploring, and connecting classroom lessons to the natural world. Experiences like this help build a deeper appreciation for Arkansas’s history, wildlife, and conservation efforts.
Great job, 6th grade — and thank you to Petit Jean State Park for an unforgettable day of learning!
