I would like to remind everyone that high school students need to be in class by 7:55. That is the start time for school. We have a bell that rings a few minutes before to help signal kids to get to class. We knew with the many changes that there would be some confusion. We have given everyone a couple of weeks to adjust to bells and such before we began to crack down on tardiness. Thank you all for your support for our kids and our school! This year has been amazing so far!

Few important dates to remember from the nurses office posted on Trojan fan page and Elementary page. Thanks! Nurse Alissa

At this time no corroborating evidence or useful details have been uncovered in regard to the information provided to the FBI.
In the event more specific or credible information is received; it will be shared with local law enforcement offices, state and local school officials, as well as Arkansas citizens.
The Arkansas State Police asks that if anyone has information about a threat of violence whether the site of the threat may be a school or other public place, please contact your nearest Arkansas State Police Office or local law enforcement agency. Dear Kirby School District Community,
The Kirby School District wants to address something that is currently circulating on social media.
On August 20th the FBI in Little Rock issued a general awareness statement to law enforcement agencies about information they received regarding a threat of a possible school shooting in Kentucky on August 28 and in Arkansas on August 29. The suspects made comments while playing an online game overseas. The FBI could NOT verify the source of the threat.
The Kirby School District is NOT aware of any specific threat to our district. The threat is not specific to any school however, we will continue to monitor the situation and reassess as needed.
The KSD wants to assure our learning community that we take the safety of our scholars and staff seriously. The KSD has plans to address safety.
The KSD will continue communicating with the Pike County Sheriff's Office over the next week. The KSD will take all steps necessary to protect our scholars and staff.

The Sr. Beta Club will meet at lunch on Monday. If your student is in grades 9-12, and had a 3.0 GPA last semester, they are eligible. The one time fee of $15 is due by Sept. 20th. If they want to attend the state convention in Hot Springs there will be an additional $20 fee. The convention will be Jan. 24-25. That fee will be due by Oct. 1.

If you listed an allergy on your child’s medical form that requires an Epi Pen in the case of an emergency, you need to bring it ASAP to the nurses office. Any questions or concerns, call me at the school at 870-388-4211. Thanks. Nurse Alissa

Reminder:
We will have school this Friday the 16th which will count as a normal week of school. Next week we will begin our Mon-Thurs schedule. The calendar is on the website and printed copies can be picked up at any office.
