Elementary students have participated in our March Madness Book Character Tournament recently. The final vote came down to Dogman & Clifford. Clifford came out on top this year!!! YAY, Clifford!!!


Purple Up Day is a special day set aside to honor and show support for military children as part of the Month of the Military Child, which is celebrated every April. It’s a chance to recognize the unique challenges these children face, as well as their strength and resilience. Military students at Kirby School District enjoy a meal with Mr. Burns and Mrs. Cowart at our local restaurant Cazadorez. Reminder: National Purple UP Day is April 15. April is Poetry month! Elementary students will be learning how to use figurative language when writing poems, as well as how to write various types of poems. This week third grade learned about Concrete or Found Poetry. They were given a template and each student created and recited their original poems in the library for their classmates.

Kirby School District will run all normal bus routes tomorrow, Monday, April 7th. If your road is not accessible at this time and you feel you cannot safely get your child to school, please contact our offices and your child will have an excused absence.

The Kirby School District Safe Room will be open this evening. You can access it by turning off of Highway 84 by the new playground.


Kirby School District is closely monitoring the weather. As of right now, we will be releasing at our normal scheduled time. If you are concerned about the incoming severe weather, you are welcome to pick up your child at any time, with the absence not counting against them.
